The Elective & Volunteers Network is a registered Tanzanian NGO run by doctors who work in Arusha's hospitals. We place your students across 12 partner facilities, handle the paperwork, and look after them from airport to final report.
Whether you run an elective programme or place students for a living, we take care of everything in Tanzania so you can focus on your students.
A signed MoU for recurring electives, with agreed placement sites, student numbers and a named EVN coordinator as your single point of contact.
Bring a cohort with a lecturer. We plan rotations across several sites so the group sees different levels of care, all on a single itinerary. Group pricing on request.
We complete your university's elective forms and provide what your assessors need.
Outreach clinics with Selian, Endulen and Wasso, plus rural district hospitals: a strong global health component for your programme.

Agencies receive partner rates below our public price list. We share them after a short introductory call.
Placement confirmation, hospital paperwork, airport pickup, accommodation, daily transport where needed, and 24/7 emergency support.
Every partner facility has a detailed public briefing: departments, a typical week, supervision and practical tips, in English and German.
Rolling Monday starts all year, stays from one week, and a direct line to a coordinator who knows each site.
Students can follow how Tanzanian patients move through the health system, from the health centre to the zonal referral hospital.

Six sites sit within walking distance of our student hostel, so multi-site rotations need no daily commute.
For rural medicine and outreach, we place students further out, from Meru District to Wasso in Loliondo.
Send the partner form with your disciplines, expected student numbers and timing.
We talk through your programme, the sites that fit, and your assessment requirements.
A signed MoU for universities, or partner terms for agencies. Clear, simple, in writing.
We confirm placements, meet students at the airport and send reports when they finish.
The things your risk and placement teams will ask about, answered up front.

Students work within the clinical team and are supervised by the staff on duty, with EVN escalation if anything needs resolving.
A local contact on call at all times, from arrival to departure.
Our student hostel as standard, with breakfast and dinner. Host families on request at most sites.
Met on arrival and dropped off on departure, with daily transport where the site needs it.
What to bring, what to expect on the wards, and practical advice before they fly.
No more than 10 students in any one department at a facility, so placements stay meaningful.
Tell us a little about your institution. Our team will reply within two working days to arrange a short call.
Either works. Universities usually have students pay EVN directly; agencies usually invoice their students and pay us at partner rates. We agree this when we set terms.
Medicine, nursing, midwifery, dental, pharmacy, medical laboratory, radiology and physiotherapy, for clinical-year students and qualified professionals.
One week at most sites. Karatu, Endulen and Wasso need at least two weeks because of the distance.
Yes. Send us your elective forms and we'll arrange the supervisor sign-off, reference and completion certificate. We can also provide a risk assessment and health & safety information for your placement or travel office.
