The Wasso Hospital is located in Ngorongoro district, 420 kilometres from Arusha, the northern tourist hub and the safari capital of Tanzania.

The hospital is owned by the Catholic Archdiocese of Arusha and currently run in collaboration with the Ngorongoro District Council as a Council Designated Hospital. It is the largest hospital in Ngorongoro District and serves as a referral hospital at a district level, receiving referred patients from hospitals, health centres and dispensaries within the Ngorongoro District.

It provides healthcare services to both outpatients and inpatients, it has a capacity of 150 beds and attends an average of 50 to 70 patients per day, majority being the locals, the Maasai and the Sonjo.

Electives, internships or volunteering at Wasso district hospital is available throughout the year for qualified health professionals and healthcare students. 

You will be working with hospital staff and follow them on their daily routines, you will be able to assist during ward rounds, take part and assist in the theatre, follow nurses and doctors in different clinics such as Diabetes clinic, HIV/AIDS clinic, Reproductive and child health,etc. 

Depending on your requirements, you will able to rotate in different departments and clinics, we always make sure you have an experienced supervisor who will guide you.
